And this is why I voted for Tom Boussy! He puts himself front and center and holds himself to account to the good people of Stoneham. The rest of the Selectmen and future Selectmen along with the Town Administrator should do the same. Lead Follow or Get The Heck Out of The Way.

Go Spartans, I agree this is a nightmare for Stoneham and especially the Franklin St, Colonial Pk neighborhood. However your comment regarding "students to already crowded classes" is misinformed. Stoneham has lost 500 students since 2005. At one point this town had 2990 students. 2011 DOE numbers show only 2400. All the while increasing their budget by $6.5M dollars. http://profiles.doe.mass.edu/profiles/student.aspx?orgcode=02840000&orgtypecode=5&

Ralph, you have a right to be concerned. The George Mann Chemical Company sat right next door to the current Middle School. With rail cars transporting hazardous chemicals into and out of the property.
I hope the Town Fathers did their homework to insure the groundwater and soil was safe before digging. But you could always try checking the EPA reports on that and the surrounding sights. -

ReplyThe Town Fathers should be going above and beyond to insure our children are safe AND communicating that to those concerned! They know what was in and around that site and how dangerous the chemicals were that came from the George Mann Chemical Plant. Disruption of that soil should be undertaken with the utmost safety in mind.

ReplyHere's another perv that Deval and Big Sis allowed into this country and state. When are you libs going to stop allowing Illegals, Terrorist and Pervs into this state?
At least as early as 2010, Portway utilized Skype and other programs to communicate with Arnett, trading child pornography including images of injured, mutilated and deceased children while chatting about the sexual abuse, rape, abduction, murder, and cannibalism of children.
Over months, Portway repeatedly solicited Arnett to kidnap a child for him, with the intent that Portway would ultimately rape, kill and eat that child. -

Can the Patch find out if these three will be charged with accessory to murder for the death of Collier? Seems to me that if they knew their buddies were terrorist and didn't do anything then they enabled the death of Collier to happen.

ReplyWhich one of the four will hold Lewis & Clarks feet to the fire and get the Chap 70 funding Stoneham has lost out on since 1994? They don't have a problem giving our tax dollars to Illegals in Everett amongst other cities/towns. Time to pay up and stop pandering to Illegal Immigrants.
Which one of you will insist the School Department/Committee put the DARE officer back into the schools? The School Department/Committee is operating with $6M more dollars and 500 less students since 2005. The "not enough funding" argument doesn't hold up.
Which one of the four will fight for allowing Stoneham residents to use the Pool, Zoo and Spot Pond for a reduced "residential rate"?
Which one of you will tell Medford and Melrose to take a hike and go ahead and develop the BRMC site? That is all lost tax revenue to the town. Either that or tell the state to reimburse us for lost tax revenue's of equal value.
Maybe the Patch can do some in depth reporting and get these and other questions answered. -

ReplyTip of the iceberg. Within feet of a school. When is Les Olson going to allow unannounced drug dogs into the schools on a regular basis? When is the School Committee, Katherine Clark & Jason Lewis going to insist on funding the DARE officer instead of funneling our tax dollars to educate Illegals? These dirtbags are only emboldened by feckless liberal policies. I don't know who's worse!

ReplyKatherine has done nothing to prevent out tax dollars from going to Illegals and Radical Islamist. Does this group support giving our tax dollars to Illegal Immigrants and Radical Islamist hell bent on killing us as well? The families and victims of the marathon bombings and the Denice family from Milford among others would like to know.

Time for a new Town Administrator. He's slowly turning Stoneham into Everett. What's the infatuation with apartments?
