ReplyThanks, Dan. I teach at community college and am always impressed with adult students who go back. They are usually among the best students in class.

ReplyHey James323. Yeah, I'm not taking a stance either way. I'm a taxpayer here, too, so I appreciate the comment thread. I think it's important for people to voice their opinions. I was just clarifying so that people didn't think their real estate taxes were definitely going to go down. Thanks

ReplyEditor's Note: Please note that not all residential property owners will see a real estate tax decrease. What I have posted in paragraph three looks at the averages per the assessor. Tax collector Jim Goggin notes that if your assessment went down more than 25 percent, you probably will pay less in real estate taxes. If it did not, you probably will pay as much or more as you did in the current fiscal year. Check your assessment on Vision Appraisal's website here: http://www.vgsi.com/vision/Applications/ParcelData/CT/Home.aspx. You need to know what you are paying currently or know what your assessment was to determine if you would be paying less. That is public record and on file at Town Hall. Thank you.

ReplyGood morning! FYI: I realize I originally had the wrong spelling of peek in the headline (I wrote peak). Thank you to a reader for pointing it out. Although it's embarrassing, I'd rather have it right. Best!

Every time I saw Anne, she would ask about how I was doing or about my family. She never once mentioned that she was sick. She was incredibly selfless. She loved Naugatuck and the community will miss her.
