I've lived in North Reading for 26 years, longer than anywhere else. I was born at the now closed Sampson Air Force Base in Geneva.... New York (I always pause before adding "New York" and everyone assumes I mean Switzerland). When I applied for a passport a few years ago I learned that the base hospital was actually across the town line in Romulus, NY. So for years, I've been lying about the place of my birth. I've held a variety of jobs throughout the years, from waitress to receptionist, accounting clerk to journalist. I ran a small printing/public relations business in North Reading for a few years. Now I'm a marketing communications manager. Of all the jobs I've had, being a mother is my favorite. I pretend to like gardening, love spending time with friends, enjoy a good book on my nook, and write a personal blog in addition to this one. I published a book three years ago, "My Breast Cancer Sally" about my adventure as a breast cancer patient and recently became a volunteer for Hospice of the North Shore and Greater Boston.
