Reading Police Investigating Weekend Bank Robbery

About $6,000 was taken from TD Bank over the weekend, according to Reading Police.

TD Bank on Main Street was robbed by an unarmed man on Saturday, and the Reading Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying the man who they say fled the bank with more than $6,000.

According to a press release from police, a man walked into TD Bank on Saturday at about 9 a.m. and appeared to write a note demanding money on the back of a withdrawal slip before passing it to the teller.

After the man was given more than $6,000, he fled on foot with no vehicle spotted, according to police.

The man was described as about 5'9" and between 25-35 years old. Police said he was wearing a dark blue Boston Red Sox hat, sunglasses, a plaid red and white button down shirt, a red under shirt, plaid shorts and light colored sneakers.

In addition, police said the man had a large circular tribal tattoo on the top of his right forearm. The teller said the man had yellow and crooked teeth that were described as "gross."

Anyone with information on the suspect is encouraged to contact Detective Derek Holmes at (781) 944-1212.
