Pay For North Reading Student Lunches Online

A new program will allow you to pay for your children's school lunches online.

Welcome to You Asked...Patch Answers where we answer readers questions. We recently received questions about the new website that will allow parents to pay for student lunches online. Patch readers want to find out more about the program. Here's your answer.

North Reading Schools are launching a new and easy way for parents to pay for student lunches. Instead of sending kids to school with money or a check, parents and guardians can pay for school lunches online.

"This is a program whereby parents will have the opportunity or ability to set up an account and use that account to make depostis to their children's school lunch account," said Director of Finance and Operations for North Reading Public Schools Carl J. Nelson.

The secure service will allow parents to pay for the entire year, a month or any length of time they choose online with a credit or debit card. There is a $1.75 service charge for each payment. So if you pay once a year, you will only be charged $1.75. This is not required, kids can still bring money or a check to school to pay for lunch.

The website, MyNutriKids.com, will not only allow parents to pay for lunches and for lunch lines to move faster, but it will also allow parents to look at their child's purchase history. The history report will show what your child has purchased over a thirty day period.

The new program will kick off on March 20. Parents should look for an email Friday and/or Monday which will contain an I.D. number for their child and allow them to set up an account. The email will also contain a phone number to call with questions.
