Dunkin' Donuts Opening on Walkers Brook Drive

Reading will soon have another Dunkin' Donuts.

A new Dunkin' Donuts will be opening in town on Walkers Brook Drive. A site plan review for the donut shop was recently approved by the Planning Commission, according to Staff Planner Jessie Wilson.

The new Dunkins will be located at 87 Walkers Brook Drive inside the Shell Gas Station, which is owned by longtime Reading resident Rick Camuso and his brother, Boxford resident Bill Camuso. The brothers have owned the gas station since they bought it from the Shell Oil Company about three years ago.

Shortly after they purchased the station, Dunkin' Donuts approached them about possibly adding a donut shop to the gas station. They have been working with Dunkin' Donuts and the town for about a year to get the proper permits.

The Planning Commission recently approved the site plan review for the donut shop and according to Rick Camuso, they currently have a bid out for the construction work. They hope to open the Dunkins at some point this summer, he said.

"I would imagine it's going to be a couple months just to do the construction, so we are looking at the summertime, hopefully, if everything goes right,” Rick Camuso said.

The shop will offer a drive through and counter service only, according to Rick Camuso. There will not be a seating area inside, he said.

There will be a two to four week period that the gas station will be closed during the construction, but those dates are not yet confirmed.
