Last Corner Restaurant Open 36 Years

Owned by Wilmington residents Paul and Valerie Pavlidis, the restaurant has been in business for 36 years. Not only does the couple own the eatery, but they also run it by themselves.

"I'm used to doing several things at once," Valerie Pavlidis said.

Their specialty: roast beef sandwiches, said Pavlidis and her customers were in agreement.

There are a variety of sandwiches on their menu including pastrami or a burger. They also serve breakfast. You can get two eggs with toast and coffee for $3.70 or an omelet for $5.45.

When asked what her favorite part of owning a restaurant is, Pavlidis said, "The people."

They have a lot of regulars, "just look around," she said. The restaurant had about 10 regulars enjoying lunch on a Monday afternoon.

"It's the greatest place to come and visit with your friends," patron June Storie said. 

Storie has been eating at the Last Corner for 35 years. 

"It's a family place away from home," customer Al B. said.

Everything is made to order and guaranteed fresh. They are open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 6 to 11 a.m.
