Break-in Reported on Haverhill Street, North Reading

The following information was supplied by the North Reading police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the North Reading Police Department from Friday through Tuesday. The information is open to the public.

Friday, Dec. 28

  • At 7:51 a.m., an Olde Coach Road resident reported that someone broke into her vehicle.
  • At 8:52 a.m., a Tower Hill Road resident reported that someone broke into his vehicle.
  • At 10:49 a.m., an officer reported that a car was broken into on Tower Hill Road. A Panasonic projection device was taken.
  • At 11:24 p.m., a caller reported a minor motor vehicle accident on Main Street.
  • At 1:18 p.m., an employee from Play It Again Sports reported a female shoplifter. The female was given a no trespass order. 
  • At 1:29 p.m., an alarm company reported a burglar alarm going off at a home on Haverhill Street. Police confirmed the break in and found an open door with a broken window at the home.

Saturday, Dec. 29

  • At 11:19 a.m., a caller reported hearing a gun shot in the Leland Road area. Police found that the noise the caller heard was from fireworks.
  • At 2:46 p.m., a Gordon Road resident reported that mail was taken from his mailbox.
  • At 7:56 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Elm Street. One car was towed from the scene and one person transported to the hospital.
  • At 9:52 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Main Street. No injuries were reported.
  • At 10:03 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Haverhill Street. No injuries were reported.
  • At 11:08 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Main Street. No injuries were reported.
  • At 11:14 p.m., an emergency caller reported a car hit a pole on Elm Street. The injuries were unknown.

Sunday, Dec. 30

  • At 9:33 a.m., a caller reported a tree into a house on Williams Road. The fire department was notified.

Monday, Dec. 31

  • At 12:04 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Park Street. No injuries were reported.
  • At 2:56 p.m., a caller reported that her bank card was fraudulently used.
  • At 3:05 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Main Street. No injuries were reported.
  • At 9:46 p.m., a caller reported fireworks in the Abbott Road area. Police checked the area, but did not find anything.

Tuesday, Jan. 1

  • At 3:18 p.m., a caller reported five possible shoplifters at Walmart. Police were able to identify the shoplifters and Walmart will summons them.
