Reading Woman Held in Protective Custody After Passing Out in Cab

The following is an excerpt from the Reading Police Department log from Friday through Tuesday. The information is open to the public.

Arrests

At 9:21 a.m. Friday, a caller reported an argument in the parking lot of Market Basket. As a result of the call, Brian C. McCarthy, 32, of 122 Eleventh St. Lowell was arrested on two warrants and charges of receiving a stolen truck and operating with a suspended license.

Friday, Nov. 2

  • At 3:29 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Salem Street. The injuries were unknown.

Saturday, Nov. 3

  • At 10:34 a.m., a Robin Road resident reported that her father's car may have been stolen overnight. A neighbor reported that the car was there the night before, but was gone as of Saturday morning. The resident eventually found that the car was parked in the garage.

Sunday, Nov. 4 

  • At 1:26 a.m., a Linden Street resident reported a house party in the area. Police checked the area, but did not find anything.
  • At 2:24 a.m., a Reading female was held in protective custody after passing out in the back of a cab.
  • At 7:38 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Main Street. No injuries were reported.
  • At 9:16 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Archstone Circle. A car hit a pole. No injuries were reported.

Monday, Nov. 5

  • At 10:29 a.m., a caller reported a car accident on Main Street. No injuries were reported.
  • At 1:05 p.m., a Walnut Street resident reported an unwanted guest. Police transported the guest to the train station.

Tuesday, Nov. 6

  • At 11:19 a.m., a caller reported a car accident on Oakland Road. No injuries were reported.
  • At 2:07 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Salem Street. The injuries were unknown.
  • At 6:15 p.m., a caller reported an accident on Lowell Street. A tractor trailer unit hit the posts on the side of the road.
  • At 9:23 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Haverhill Street. The accident was minor and no injuries were reported.
