Monday Essentials: CPDC Hearing, Soccer Clinic and More

Did you enjoy the weekend? Are you ready for the week ahead? Here are some events happening around town this week:

Monday: CPDC Public Hearing

The CPDC will hold a public hearing on Monday, August 12 at 8 p.m. in the Selectmen's Meeting Room at Town Hall. During the public hearing, the CPDC will discuss proposed changes to Section 6.2 Signs of the Reading Zoning Bylaws, specifically regarding the proposed billboard at the Mobil on West Street. Tuesday: Cougar Soccer Clinic

The soccer clinic will run from August 13 to August 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lowell Fields. The Austin Prep boys varsity soccer coach Vin Musto is the director. The clinic is for boys and girls ages 10 to 14. The cost is $75 per week.

Wednesday: Summer Lunch Special for Seniors

There will be a summer lunch special for seniors at the senior center. Singer Jim Moses will perform.The entertainment will run from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. You can choose between crab cakes or a grilled chicken salad for lunch. Reserve your spot 48 hours in advance by calling (781) 942-6794. The suggested donation is $2. Bingo starts at 1:30 p.m. 

Thursday: Lunch and Learn Series for Seniors

Meet the new Town Manager Bob LeLacheur and his vision for Reading at the senior center. Choose between stuffed shells or seafood salad for lunch. Reservations are required 48 hours in advance. Call (781) 942-6794 to reserve your spot. The suggested donation is $2.
